Your information
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 September 2026
RoamReel processes only the information needed to turn media you select into Reels, manage your subscription, and provide support.
Who operates RoamReel
RoamReel is provided by the developer identified on its Apple App Store page (“RoamReel”, “we”, “us”). For privacy questions or requests, email luciteck@gmail.com.
Information we process
- Your selected content. Photos and video clips you explicitly choose, including the audio carried by those clips, text and captions you add, selected stickers and GIFs (including GIFs you import), the limited technical file information needed to process them, and the Reels you create. RoamReel removes embedded location, capture-date, and camera metadata from media before an upload can begin. Available dates and coordinates may be retained separately in local editable projects, as explained below.
- Subscription information. Apple-signed transaction information, product ID, subscription status, and expiry or revocation information. Apple processes your payment-card details; RoamReel does not receive them.
- Service identity. A random, pseudonymous identifier used to associate your subscription and creations with the app. It is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
- Technical records. Render status, timestamps, selected editing and soundtrack settings, network request information such as IP address, and limited operational or error logs.
RoamReel does not upload your entire photo library. It receives only items you explicitly select. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party advertising or tracking.
How we use information
We use this information to upload selected media, create and deliver Reels and previews you request, keep your Reel library available, recover interrupted submissions without creating duplicate renders, restore purchases, verify paid access, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and respond to support or privacy requests.
Uploaded media is not used to train generative-AI models and is not sent to third-party AI model providers.
Local editing and optional trip titles
When available for items you select, capture dates and saved GPS coordinates are used on your device for trip context. Capture dates can suggest a trip-day number. RoamReel does not send these raw metadata fields to its rendering servers, but keeps them with the media in saved local projects.
Location and day titles are optional and are off by default. Only if you tap Suggest from this photo / clip are that selected item’s GPS coordinates sent to Apple’s reverse-geocoding service to suggest a place name, subject to Apple Maps & Privacy. This does not use your device’s current location. You can instead enter a place manually, edit the suggested name, or leave the title off.
Nothing is added until you tap Add title. When you render a Reel, text you choose to add (including a location or trip day), overlay images/GIFs, and their editing settings are uploaded for rendering. Text and layer settings also form part of the saved server-side editing recipe; visible overlays appear in the finished export. The built-in stickers and animated artwork do not use an external GIF-catalogue service.
Soundtracks and social sharing
If original RoamReel tracks are available in the in-app catalogue, selecting one sends only its catalogue identifier, selected music start time, and your mix settings to the renderer; it does not disclose extra personal information to a music provider. Optional beat synchronization adjusts the editing recipe on your device using catalogue analysis, without uploading additional media to a music-analysis provider. The catalogue may be empty while new tracks are being prepared and cleared.
If you share an export to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, or another app, that app receives the content you choose to share and processes it under its own privacy policy. RoamReel does not access those services’ music catalogues.
Service providers and international processing
We use providers only to operate RoamReel:
- Apple for App Store distribution, StoreKit payments, and signed transaction information, and for optional place-name suggestions you explicitly request;
- Railway for the application API, rendering, database hosting, and operational logs;
- Cloudflare R2 for private object storage and short-lived upload or download links;
- Cloudflare Pages to host this static privacy and support website.
These providers may process information in countries other than yours under their contractual and legal safeguards.
Retention and deletion
- Selected source photos, videos, and uploaded overlay image/GIF files are automatically deleted from Cloudflare R2 no later than 7 days after upload, including abandoned uploads.
- A completed Reel and its server-side editing recipe remain available until you delete that Reel in My Reels.
- Composed draft previews are generated online only when requested, using the same selected media and editing recipe as a Reel. They are private, do not appear in My Reels, and become unavailable 24 hours after completion or failure. Their temporary output and recipe are scheduled for cleanup; physical storage deletion is retried if necessary.
- A submission identifier, a fingerprint of the editing request, and a link to the resulting job are retained for approximately 30 days to prevent duplicate renders when a request is retried. This limited record can remain after the Reel or preview is deleted and does not retain a separate copy of the media or readable editing recipe.
- Editable projects are saved on your iPhone when you save a project or begin rendering. They contain local source-media copies, imported GIFs, editing settings, text, and available capture-date/location metadata. These copies do not expire after 7 days: they remain until you delete the project in My Reels → Local projects or fully delete the app and its data. They may also be included in device backups according to your backup settings.
- The current draft is also autosaved locally, including selected and excluded Autopilot moments, until you replace it, use Reset, or delete the app and its data. Interrupted uploads keep a separate local recovery copy of source files, the request and upload receipts until submission is safely completed or you explicitly discard recovery. Finished recovery copies are cleaned up separately from saved projects. These local copies may be included in device backups according to your settings.
- Failed or unfinished render-job metadata is deleted no later than 30 days after its last update.
- Operational logs are retained for up to 30 days, depending on the Railway hosting plan, unless a shorter period applies.
- Subscription verification records and pseudonymous identity links are retained as needed to operate your subscription, restore access, prevent fraud, and meet legal obligations.
Deleting a completed Reel removes it from your library immediately and schedules its private export for deletion. If Cloudflare R2 is temporarily unavailable, deletion is retried with increasing delays until it succeeds. The limited queue record is kept only while cleanup is pending.
Deleting a completed Reel does not delete a separately saved local project or a copy saved to Photos. Deleting a local project removes that saved revision’s media copies and recipe, not the completed Reel, other saved project versions, an already opened working edit, or media in Photos. Reset in Create clears the current working edit and its autosave; a pending upload must first be resolved or explicitly discarded. Discarding local upload recovery does not cancel a render already accepted by the server.
